LOVE STORIES
POLLY & MICHAEL
I love photographing weddings that begin at the bride's home. Being right in the middle of the excitement as everyone gets ready and the day's plans come together creates fantastic opportunities for beautiful, natural photographs. The anticipation, emotions, and little moments shared during the preparations make for some of my favourite images of the day.
We then moved on to the Holy Trinity Church in Sheffield for the ceremony, followed by the reception at Hassop Hall in Derbyshire. On the way, we made a quick stop at Burbage Edge for a romantic photo session with just the bride and groom.
The weather wasn't on our side for much of the day, but thankfully, the rain finally stopped in the evening, allowing us to capture some truly dramatic images. Overall, it was a fantastic day and a great success from start to finish.
HELEN & NICK
We always love it when a couple chooses to do something a little different.
Helen and Nick celebrated their wedding at Fishers in Derbyshire, surrounded by a small group of close family and friends. The intimate ceremony and wedding breakfast created a relaxed and personal atmosphere, perfectly reflecting the couple’s style.
With its understated details and timeless styling, the day was effortlessly elegant from start to finish.
After the wedding, Helen and Nick chose to combine images from their pre-wedding shoot with photographs from their wedding day to create a stunning three-foot square canvas for their home.
It’s a fantastic way to bring together the story of their journey and showcase some of their favourite moments in a piece of artwork they can enjoy every day.
BEAVELY & NEIL
In 2010, Beavely & Neil asked me to photograph their wedding in Venice, where Neil proposed. They wanted photos with the nostalgic feel of a grainy black-and-white cityscape book they loved. I shot the wedding on a Rolleiflex twin-lens camera, shooting on film despite my usual digital style. With limited exposures, I planned carefully.
I arrived early to scout venues and discuss ideas with the couple over cocktails at Harry’s Bar. The intimate wedding included close family and friends. Beverly wore a Vivienne Westwood dress, Neil an Ozwald Boateng suit. The ceremony took place at the registrar’s office by the Grand Canal, followed by a joyful parade and a dinner at La Mascareta.
The photos became some of my all-time favourites.
